What inspired you to become a Therapist?
I did not grow up believing I would become a therapist. My career started in the corporate world of finance and data analytics, where I learned that the highlights of my day were moments of connecting and supporting colleagues and friends. Outside of work, I began volunteering, first with a Jewish nonprofit facilitating conversations on identity, relationships, and spirituality, then designing and facilitating my own retreat on masculinity and emotions, and finally as a crisis counselor. Those experiences, as well as my own transformative experience in therapy, showed me how much passion and purpose I have working with others to help them grow and find connection. What is your approach to therapy? What specialized training do you carry in your professional toolbox? I work from the premise that there are good reasons for the way we live our lives, even and especially in the places that we are most stuck. My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, transparent, non-pathologizing, and at-times playful. I have completed extensive postgraduate training in Relational Gestalt Therapy, a modality that focuses on building present-moment awareness with a focus on embodiment, parts work, and systems thinking. I also completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1) with a specialized focus on treating the ongoing effects of past trauma by working directly with the nervous system. In addition to these modalities, I also have training in Mindfulness and Self Compassion (thru Insight LA) and Working with Grief (thru Our House). Who are you passionate about working with? I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma as well as those navigating relationships (both individuals and couples). I am also passionate about working with men across the lifespan, who are looking to deepen their relationships, recover from a breakup, or explore career uncertainty and change. Education:
