What inspired you to become a Therapist?
My earliest inspiration was my own journey to understand my experience and navigate the challenges in my family system. And I had some inspiring therapists of my own, who helped me transform the insights from my personal process into strategies to guide and support others. What is your approach to therapy?
As an holistic therapist, I take a non-pathologizing approach. I see my role as helping you to identify and address the internal barriers you experience that inhibit your natural process of becoming your best self. What education and advanced training have you completed?
I completed my graduate training at Washington University in St. Louis, where I first studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family therapy. Since then, I have completed extensive post-graduate training in a variety of modalities informed by cutting edge research in interpersonal neurobiology, nervous system regulation, and attachment science: Advanced Trainings for working with Individuals:
What experience do you have as a supervisor and trainer?
I have been teaching and supervising couples and family therapy at community mental health clinics, treatment centers, and privately throughout the Los Angeles area for the past 15 years. In addition to the advanced trainings I offer at The BENK Collective, I also spent six years as the clinical supervisor for the Child & Family Therapy track and the Couples Therapy track at Airport Marina Counseling Service, one of the premier southern California training facilities for Psychologists and Marriage and Family Therapists. I spend my summers at Jewish overnight-camp, where I serve as Community Care staff at Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps - Camp Hess Kramer and Gindling Hilltop Camp (clap, clap) - providing support to children with a variety of emotional and behavioral needs, and training camp staff to best support every camper.
